They are an ideal option if the crate is extra large or if they need to be assembled in a certain way on, or around a product. Classification of Pallets Broadly pallets are divided into two classes. They are… Block Pallets : This type of pallets are fabricated using blocks of solid wood which support the unit load and provides the space for entry of hand pallet/truck forklift fork. Typically, 4 to 9 blocks are used to support the top and bottom deck boards. Block pallet design allows the entry of fork from all the sides, i.e., 4 way entry. Stringer Pallets: This type of pallets are fabricated using stringer, which is a continuous, longitudinal, with / without notched, solid wood piece. Stringer supports deckboards and provides space for fork entry. Stringer pallets allows fork entry from two side, and partial four side entry in case of notched stringer
